Vietnam was one of the countries that has successfully controlled the spread of Covid since the beginning of the pandemic.
However, the Delta variant has caused a surge in the number of infections, mostly in the southern part of the country, in the third quarter of 2021. This prompted the imposition of movement restrictions in Ho Chi Minh City and other areas in the south.
