Since 1997, Girlstart has been empowering girls through science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Its year-round STEM program, Girlstart After School, helps 4th and 5th grade girls better prepare for middle school science and math. It also hosts the technology-intensive Girlstart Summer Camp every year, where girls learn app development, robotics, video game development, and object-to-computer interface programming, among others.

Nadine West has chosen to support Girlstart because of its mission of addressing both racial and gender inequities in STEM education by engaging girls from different racial backgrounds. Nadine West helps Girlstart by sharing profits from certain items to fund its different programs.
